I have not posted to this blog in so long. I had to step away from my business in TX for personal reasons. A lot has happened in the last year. I no longer live in TX, the place I called home my entire life. My family moved to NC the end of January. I got to experience my first winter away from TX. I have never in my life felt zero degrees.

I am very happy about leaving behind the miserable TX summers though. I dreaded summer in TX every year and I am so glad to finally be rid of the awful humidity and two months of triple digits. The two things I am most excited about are living close to my family and living close to the beach. Back in May I let my oldest son skip school and we spent the day at the beach. There is just something so relaxing about watching my boys laugh and play while listening to the waves. We had the beach to ourselves. It was amazing!

I am overjoyed to finally be close enough to the beach to offer beach sessions to clients. I am excited about opening my business in NC and I can’t wait to see where this new chapter in my life takes me.

Boys will be boys! What fun lifestyle photographs!

My baby turned four last month. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by. He has changed so much. He is so big now, but I try desperately to hold on to the little pieces of him that are still a baby. I love that he still sucks his thumb. I love that he still sits in my lap and snuggles up under a blanket with me while we are drinking our breakfast smoothies. I love that he still mispronounces words and makes up his own words that are unique to him. I love that he still has the same bear that has appeared in many of his pictures over the last four years. I love that he has to sleep with the Rudolph his dad bought him when he was sick the week before Christmas. He brings so much joy to my life and things just would not be the same without him running around here wreaking havoc every single day. I love this beautiful, blue eyed little boy so much.

Your boys are going to treasure these photos when they are grown (as are their future wives)! You have such a gift Beth of so simply and perfectly capturing childhood. I am always so inspired by your photos of Matty and Rowen!

It has been so long since I have posted to my blog. I have been so busy with sessions that I just got behind and quit blogging. You may notice that my blog has a new look. I have spent the last few months working on my new branding and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. And since no post is complete without a picture, here is one from a few weeks ago. I took him outside to play in the sprinkler, but he would have no part of it. I just love the golden summer light.

I love it too! Lovely! 🙂

I just wanted to share a few pictures of me and my boys. Recently a fellow photographer lost her battle with cancer and it really brought home the fact that life is so precious and fleeting. It made me realize that I need to be in pictures with my boys. I am rarely on the other side of the camera, but my boys need pictures of them with their mommy. I plan to do this more often. ♥

  • It is NOT easy to get in the frame, but you did such a beautiful set here! You’re inspiring me.

It’s been a while since I posted. I am trying to discipline myself to take pictures daily, which is something I have never done before. I have picked up my camera more times in the last few days than I have in the last few months. I was wondering what room to take pictures in yesterday and how to set everything up. My subject, of course, was my 2 (almost 3) year old son. I walked into the bathroom and noticed the beautiful light in there, so I thought bath time pictures would be my theme for the day. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. If you would like to follow my daily posts you can do so on the cmpro daily project website. ♥
